Saturday, June 10th, 2006

Just got back from Dubai this morning , arrived around 3.15am Malaysian time. The flight was delayed for one full day due to engine problem. As usual dpt free hotel stay etc etc….

I was sent to Dubai for a month long SAP security implementation project over at Panasonic Middle East. The trip was quite fun and all..but I kinda miss malaysia. I’m not really used to living in a desert (granted there’s trees here and there in Dubai) but still you dont get that forest smell , weather was quite arid…oh well enough bumbling here are the pics! :)

Sunset at Jumeirah Beach. This is quite near Port Rashid…used rear-flash mode for this and long exposure to get the ambience of the sundown setting :) (camera geek talk warning!) - "the first shadow for the ppl walking was due to the initial flash and then a last curtain flashed as the shutter closes.." (end camera geek talk)

My last weekend in Dubai - rented a Ford Focus and drove following the easterly wind to Fujairah on the east coast of UAE. Here in the beach of Kor Khaban , a family is about to go on a leisure boat drive which will take you along the beach and Fujairah Free Zone Port.

Dubai old town is separated by a river that flows out to the Persian Golf..locals call it the creek. For a mere 50 fils (about 0.50 RM) you can take a ride on the abra (wooden boat) to cross the creek..if you wanna take car - with traffic and all it will take you 30 mins to cross the creek haha..yeah traffic is pretty bad in Dubai..

went on a Desert Safari tour where they will take you on a 4wd and drive like roller coaster up and down the sand dunes. After that we were treated to Arabic BBQ dinner and belly dancing! yallla yalla ya habibi!
